I never though I'd ever say that.. not that I didn't wish to have the chance to.
Last friday I launched this website ..
Of course I did my usual round trip .. tested/fixed for IE6 and then tested/fixed for IE7, but I didn't have IE8 installed so I took a chance ...
Sure enough I was notified immediatly that there was a problem with the site on IE .. I knew that it was IE8 and after installing it I could finally contemplate the problem by myself.
So I set myself to fix it with the usual hacks .. however to my great surprise (and joy) the fix was rather simple: remove all IE hacks.
So the same HTML/CSS renders identically either in IE8, FF, Chrome or Safari .. and for that, congrats guys.
And a really sincere thank you.
Note: I might have included JavaScript as well, but I use jQuery, which abstract most browser inconsistencies .. so I cannot really relate about how IE8's JS is consistent with standards comparatively to other browsers .. hence my abstinence on that topic.
